Description |
Looking up Argyle Street to Mount Arrowsmith. A team of horses pulling a wagon(?) can be seem in the middle of the dirt road; train tracks run across the foreground. The band stand and the Somass Hotel can be seen on the left; the Hotel King Edward on the right. Telephone poles lines the sides of the street. "Port Alberni B.C." is written in white in the lower left corner. Handwritten in blue ink on the reverse is: "Annie G. Croll / Alberni, B.C. / Beaver Creek Road". Stamped on the reverse is "JOSEPH CLEGG / Alberni, B. C." |

The Somass addition, and Edwardian style block bay windows that faces Argyle Street, was opened in 1908. |
