Description |
A B W original photograph of a Lidgerwood skidder and steel spar tree in the process of being dismantled. This view shows only half of the skidder, which is sitting on a railway track. There are three men working on top of the skidder. Above are several telephone lines and two buildings on the right. There is smoke rising in the right side of the photo and in the background are trees, a hillside and a mountain in the distance. This photo has white borders and is printed on Velox paper. On the back of the photo is stamped in black ink 287T and written in pencil is 57 and 27. |
History |
The spar tree was dismantled for repair and complete rebuilding of the machine. Everything was taken apart to sell for scrap. This photo was taken possibly at Franklin River or Great Central. PN07428-517 are 90 black and white photographs of logging Franklin Division and Great Central Lake. All the photos were a collection of Glen Chatwin (donor's father). |
